Competitive Immunoassay
Real-time quantification of small molecules and haptens in 10 minutes
Overview Competitive assays are ideal for small molecules such as drugs, hormones, toxins and pesticides that are too small for a sandwich format. The sample analyte competes with a labeled or immobilized reagent for limited binding sites, with signal typically decreasing as analyte concentration increases.
ElioDX™ supports different competitive configurations with real-time, wash-free detection and quantitative results in about 10 minutes.
Configurations supported

Antibody-coated — Sample analyte and labeled antigen compete for an immobilized antibody.

Antigen-coated — Sample analyte and immobilized antigen compete for a labeled antibody.

How it works on ElioDX™

Ready-to-use cuvette — Antibody or antigen is pre-loaded and dried.

Mix and add — Sample is mixed with the competing reagent and transferred to the cuvette.

Real-time competition — ElioDX™ continuously monitors the resulting fluorescence signal.

Quantitative result — Concentration is determined from a calibration curve in about 10 minutes.

Typical applications
-
Drug monitoring and pharmacokinetics
-
Hormone quantification
-
Mycotoxins, pesticides and residues
-
Food and environmental contaminants

Overview Sandwich assays are widely used to detect and quantify larger antigens such as proteins, biomarkers and pathogens. The target is captured between two specific binders, typically a capture and a labeled detection antibody. On ElioDX™, the assay is wash-free and monitored in real time, delivering quantitative results in about 10 minutes from a single sample addition.
